Our Research
Hermione Therapeutics is advancing a best-in-class anti-biofilm platform built on robust preclinical evidence, publications and mechanism of action, providing a strong scientific foundation for clinical development.
Hermione Therapeutics’ lead ANP also provides a reassuring safety profile and ease of manufacturing.
From Discovery to Innovation
The anti-biofilm properties of ANP were first identified by Pr. Olivier Lesouhaitier (Co-founder of Hermione Therapeutics) at the CBSA Laboratory – University of Rouen Normandy, France.
Since then, Hermione Therapeutics has continued to advance this innovative approach through extensive scientific research, preclinical development and intellectual property protection.

Demonstrated Biofilm Dispersion
In vitro proof-of-concept studies demonstrated that ANP, in combination with antibiotics, effectively disperses Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms and achieves bacterial eradication.
Following a 2-hour exposure, ANP induced significant biofilm dispersal and enhanced antibiotic activity through an independent mechanism of action, restoring bacterial vulnerability and enabling near-complete eradication.
The same demonstration was achieved with several classes of antibiotics.
A single dose of ANP helps antibiotics to eliminate :
of the biofilm

Multiple in vitro proof-of-concept studies demonstrated enhanced antibiotic activity across multiple standard-of-care antibacterial agents, showing that ANP’s mechanism of action remains independent of antibiotic choice.
Enhancing Antibiotic Efficacy In Vivo
In vivo studies confirmed that ANP enhances antibiotic efficacy in chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections. The combination of ANP and tobramycin resulted in a dramatic reduction in bacterial burden compared with antibiotic therapy alone.

A De-risked Molecule increasing translational potential
Unlike many early-stage therapeutic candidates, ANP is a naturally occurring human peptide supported by extensive scientific knowledge and existing safety data.
Its well-characterized profile and ease of manufacturing provide a strong foundation for efficient clinical development.
To maximize therapeutic benefit, ANP is being developed as an inhaled therapy, enabling direct delivery to the lungs where bacterial biofilms persist.
